Our Y6/Y7 transition work is based on the first four Harry Potter books, and begins with each Y6 class being allocated one character from the books. In-depth character analysis then takes place in activities such as diaries, role-play and biographies, with a visit by a children's book illustrator and an authentic ‘Mastermind’ competition. The work in Y7 continues with the children writing short plays based on the books, designing and making props, scenery and costumes and performing at a final celebration extravaganza. Massive fun and lots of learning!
